Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Benefits Specialist to lead the administration, compliance, and strategic development of employee benefits programs across the United States, Canada, Mexico, and EMEA. This role will partner closely with HR, Payroll, Finance, Legal, and external vendors to deliver competitive and compliant benefits programs that support employee well-being and align with business objectives.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in U.S. benefits administration, experience managing multinational benefit programs within the technology industry, and a proven ability to navigate complex regulatory environments. Experience with Workday Benefits and global benefits operations is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Benefits Strategy & Program Management

  • Manage the day-to-day administration of health and welfare, retirement, leave, wellness, and voluntary benefit programs across North America and EMEA.

  • Support the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of global benefits programs that align with company objectives and market practices.

  • Evaluate benefit offerings and recommend enhancements to ensure competitiveness, cost effectiveness, and employee satisfaction.

  • Lead annual renewals, plan design changes, open enrollment activities, and vendor management initiatives.

Global Benefits Administration

  • Manage benefits programs in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and assigned EMEA countries.

  • Partner with local HR Business Partners, brokers, consultants, and vendors to ensure effective and compliant administration.

  • Monitor statutory benefits requirements and market trends across multiple countries.

  • Support harmonization of benefit programs while maintaining local compliance requirements.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, provincial, and country-specific regulations.

  • Oversee ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, retirement plan compliance, annual filings, audits, and regulatory reporting.

  • Maintain plan documents, employee communications, policies, and administrative procedures.

  • Partner with Legal, Payroll, Finance, and external advisors on benefit-related compliance matters.

Workday Benefits & Systems

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for Workday Benefits administration.

  • Partner with HRIS and Payroll teams to maintain accurate benefit configurations and integrations.

  • Lead benefits testing, system enhancements, and issue resolution activities.

  • Develop reports and analytics to monitor enrollment, costs, and program effectiveness.

Vendor Management

  • Manage relationships with brokers, carriers, consultants, retirement plan providers, and third-party administrators.

  • Conduct vendor performance reviews and support contract negotiations.

  • Address escalated employee issues and ensure timely resolution.

Employee Experience & Communications

  • Develop and deliver employee benefit communications and educational materials.

  • Support employee understanding of benefit offerings through presentations, webinars, and one-on-one consultations.

  • Lead open enrollment communications and employee engagement initiatives.

Compensation

Expected Salary Range: $110,000 - $175,000 annually, plus bonus eligibility, equity, and comprehensive benefits, based on qualifications and experience.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2-5 years of benefits administration experience preferably within a technology company.

  • Strong project management, analytical, and organizational skills.

  • Experience managing benefits programs and multinational vendor relationships across the United States, Canada, Mexico, and EMEA countries.

  • Strong knowledge of health and welfare, retirement, leave of absence, and compliance requirements.

  • Experience supporting Workday implementations, enhancements, or global benefits projects.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong Workday Benefits administration experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
