POSITION SUMMARY:

Leads and manages the technology team, ensuring systems and solutions are aligned with improving the member and participant experience. Oversees the evaluation, implementation, and maintenance of information systems--including network infrastructure, cybersecurity, user support, and staff training. Drives innovation by researching emerging technologies, establishing best practices, and maximizing return on technology investments to support seamless, user-friendly experiences. This includes managing IT staff, developing & implementing IT policies & procedures, and ensuring the security and reliability of our IT systems. The role involves building relationships with vendors, staff, and other constituents.

This role functions as both an individual contributor and manager, balancing hands-on responsibilities with the oversight and development of team members.

SALARY RANGE: $190K - $225K

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Directs a value driven organization enhancing support of business processes, creating positive impact in performance. Organizes, plans, and recommends investments in information assets in line with objectives of the Association. Overseeing day-to-day operations of the IT department, including infrastructure, software, and technical.
  • Manages and oversees all aspects of information systems. Develops and manages system security, including back up processes. Maintaining security protocols to protect sensitive data and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures (retention policy).
  • Identify and promote knowledge systems to support the organization in making intelligent decisions and building relationships that advance the strategic plan of the organization.
  • Identify, promote, communicate and coordinate the sharing of knowledge assets that are current or need to be developed for the organization.
  • Identify and implement improved processes that integrate people, program and the application of new technology to support center initiatives and action plans.
  • Support the creation of a culture that fosters innovation, flexibility and adaptation.
  • Recruit, train, and provide leadership to all IT positions; ensuring that the IT staff are responding to branch staff in a timely and effective manner; Ensures training and support is provided to users.
  • Maintain a technological infrastructure, including voice and data systems, to support center initiatives in a cost-effective manner.
  • Evaluates issues pertaining to information systems for strategic planning and innovation.
  • Studies most effective trends in technology applications and potential value to Y approach. Prioritizes with key stakeholders and develops plans for deployment.
  • Develops and monitors budgets related to information technology. Monitors the costs involved in maintaining and improving information systems, including equipment and software. Evaluates and recommends technology purchases based on the YMCA's needs.
  • Ensures proper operating procedures are in place in regard to technology and provides training as assigned.
  • Collaborates with others within the organization in regards to processes, software, etc. to meet Association needs; building and maintaining relationships with IT vendors
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or related field; or equivalent.
  • 10 plus years in a Sr. IT Leadership role, managing a team.
  • Individual contributor as well as Strategic Thought partner
  • Experience in either database architecture/interfaces, database application or development.
  • Experience with implementing and managing cloud-based enterprise business applications.
  • Solid understanding of business applications in the areas of Financials, CRM, POS, Membership Management, and B2C Portals.
  • Experience with enterprise Business Intelligence solutions and/or data warehouses.
  • Strong knowledge of networking, information security, and desktop and mobile devices.
  • Familiar with tools in use of Software and Web development (SQL, JavaScript, CSS, etc.).
  • Capable of problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.
  • Previous supervisory experience, ability to motivate and lead a team and demonstrate sound judgment, initiative and independent thinking.
  • Strong team building and people management skills
  • Strategic thinker, problem solver, and effective communicator (writing and verbal)
