About the company

We are a stealth-mode battery startup developing cutting-edge battery technology. Our mission is to revolutionize battery technology to accelerate the global transition to clean energy. By leveraging innovative materials and advanced manufacturing techniques, we are building the future of sustainable energy.

Role

We are seeking an Engineering Technician to support the lab manager and cross-functional engineering teams by building, testing, and maintaining equipment, systems, and prototypes. You’ll take on hands-on technical work spanning prototype assembly, experimental test execution, troubleshooting, calibration, documentation, and general lab support.

This is an on-the-floor role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, iterative development environment and enjoys solving practical problems with a “build it, test it, improve it” mindset.

Responsibilities

Prototyping & Build Support

  • Build low-volume prototype assemblies across a broad range of product lifecycle milestones (early concepts through new product introduction).

  • Perform hands-on fabrication and integration (mechanical and electro-mechanical) to support engineering development and validation.

  • Rework or modify prototype components/systems to restore or improve functionality.

Testing & Development

  • Conduct experiments and run test procedures; collect measurements and observations with attention to repeatability and safety.

  • Assist in refining/reworking test setups to streamline process implementation and/or improve data collection quality.

  • Troubleshoot test hardware, fixtures, and instrumentation; assist with root-cause investigations.

Equipment Installation, Calibration & Maintenance

  • Set up, install, calibrate, and maintain lab equipment and systems.

  • Diagnose issues, perform repairs where appropriate, and coordinate with vendors when needed.

  • Maintain equipment readiness through preventative maintenance schedules and calibration records.

Data, Documentation & Reporting

  • Collect, organize, analyze, and compile test data; create lab reports and update logs/records.

  • Read and interpret drawings/blueprints; support inspection and quality-control checks.

  • Document build/test procedures, configurations, and results to ensure traceability and reproducibility.

Collaboration & General Lab Support

  • Partner closely with engineers and cross-functional stakeholders (test, manufacturing, analysis) and occasionally external vendors/clients.

  • Support 5S / lab organization, continuous improvement activities, and flexible coverage across multiple projects and facilities as needed.

  • Cross-train with other technicians to increase team capability and equipment coverage.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or certificate in an engineering/technology discipline (or equivalent hands-on technical experience).

  • Strong hands-on technical ability in building, testing, and troubleshooting mechanical and/or electro-mechanical systems.

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and basic blueprint requirements; comfort using precision measurement tools.

  • Strong analytical/problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and clear communication/documentation habits.

  • Comfortable working in dynamic environment, and changing priorities with a flexible, collaborative attitude.
