Job Summary:

Foxconn is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Cost Control Specialist to support financial performance within a fast-paced electronics manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for monitoring manufacturing costs, analyzing variances, supporting budgeting and forecasting activities, and driving cost optimization initiatives across production operations. 

The Cost Control Specialist will partner closely with Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain, Program Management, Manufacturing Engineering, and Finance teams to ensure accurate cost reporting, identify opportunities for efficiency improvements, and support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate possesses strong financial acumen, manufacturing cost analysis experience, and the ability to translate data into actionable business insights. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Cost Analysis & Financial Control 

  • Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs, including labor, material, overhead, freight, and inventory-related expenses. 

  • Perform detailed cost variance analysis against budget, forecast, standard cost, and actual performance. 

  • Identify cost drivers and provide recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency. 

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities related to manufacturing operations. 

  • Assist in the preparation of operational budgets, forecasts, and financial performance reports. 

  • Track and report key manufacturing KPIs, including labor utilization, scrap, yield, inventory accuracy, and production efficiency. 

Manufacturing & Operational Finance Support 

  • Partner with factory operations teams to improve cost visibility and support cost reduction initiatives. 

  • Review production data, inventory transactions, and operational metrics to ensure financial accuracy. 

  • Support inventory control activities, including cycle counts, physical inventories, inventory reconciliation, and excess/obsolete inventory analysis. 

  • Analyze material consumption, BOM costs, and production variances to identify opportunities for improvement. 

  • Collaborate with Supply Chain and Procurement teams to monitor material costs and supplier pricing trends. 

  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities by assisting with cost tracking and financial analysis for new programs. 

Reporting & Systems Management 

  • Develop and maintain recurring financial, operational, and cost performance reports. 

  • Prepare management presentations and executive summaries highlighting key cost trends and business risks. 

  • Utilize SAP ERP and other business systems to extract, analyze, and validate financial and operational data. 

  • Improve reporting efficiency through automation and process improvements using Excel, Power BI, SQL, Python, or other analytical tools. 

  • Ensure compliance with internal financial controls, company policies, and accounting procedures. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

  • Work closely with Finance, Operations, Procurement, Program Management, and Engineering teams to resolve cost-related issues. 

  • Support customer program profitability reviews and cost management initiatives. 

  • Assist with audits, management reviews, and special financial projects as assigned. 

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational excellence and cost optimization. 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Economics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. 

  • 2–5 years of experience in cost analysis, cost accounting, financial analysis, supply chain finance, manufacturing finance, or operational finance. 

  • Experience supporting manufacturing, electronics, EMS, PCBA, semiconductor, or industrial production environments strongly preferred. 

  • Experience with AP/AR processes and financial transaction workflows preferred. 

  • Experience in high-volume electronics manufacturing or contract manufacturing (EMS) environments. 

  • Familiarity with standard costing, inventory accounting, and manufacturing KPIs. 

  • Experience supporting server, networking, or cloud infrastructure manufacturing programs is a plus. 

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or operational excellence methodologies. 

Technical Skills 

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Power Query, and financial modeling. 

  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms. 

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing cost structures, inventory management, and variance analysis. 

  • Ability to analyze large datasets and communicate findings effectively. 

Language Requirements 

  • Professional proficiency in both Mandarin and English required. 


Exempt Status
Pay Range: $83,000 - $93,000/year
