Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food preparation, presentation, and hygiene in line with hotel and restaurant guidelines.
  • Prepare high-quality dishes according to recipes and presentation standards.
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff, promoting teamwork and smooth service coordination.
  • Monitor food quality, freshness, and consistency; ensure compliance with safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Manage inventory, control stock levels, and minimize waste.
  • Assist in purchasing, menu development, and maintaining food and labor cost targets.
  • Keep records updated and support financial goals through efficient kitchen operations.
  • Follow all safety, hygiene, and appearance standards; complete necessary training and certifications.
  • Follows all company safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the supervisor.  
  • Completes safety training and certifications.  
  • Develops and maintains positive working relationships with others, supports the team in reaching common goals, and listens and responds appropriately to the concerns of other employees.  
  • Ensures uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, and maintains confidentiality of proprietary information.  
  • Performs other reasonable job duties as requested by his manager.

Qualifications

  • Hospitality oriented
  • 3 years minimum in a supervisory role as chef in a high volume, multioutlet hotel or banquets. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism and efficiency, especially under pressure and with minimal supervision.
  • Physically capable of performing job-related tasks, including standing for extended periods, bending, lifting up to 60 pounds, and other physical movements as required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Flexible availability to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Fully bilingual (Spanish & English).
