Responsible for performing the physical or administrative tasks supporting the shipping, receiving, storing, and distribution of materials, parts, supplies and equipment, rejecting unsatisfactory items where necessary. Within parameters, determines routing and arrangements for shipments, considering such factors as nature of items being shipped, method of handling, size, urgency, and cost. Consults rate schedule for specific rates depending on method of shipment and/or distance shipped. Assesses most economical and efficient common or contract carrier, to transport shipments. Calculates and records storage, redelivery, and other applicable charges. May reroute urgent shipments of an urgent nature or arrange for special delivery at destination. Prepares and maintains records of products shipped and tracks shipments. Receives incoming materials, unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices. Verifies quantity, weight, and conformance of materials to stated identifications. Maintains records of received goods, processes freight bills, packing sheets, and other documents. Stocks and distributes materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines. Lifts heavy items and may operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, tow motors, forklifts, etc. upon receipt of internal certification. Knowledge of material handling procedures and Environmental Health and Safety requirements. May perform wood shop functions such as operating power saws and nail guns in building skids and crates.

Primary Function:

Responsible for stocking and kitting material and cycle counting inventory.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Receives incoming material; examines and counts material received.
  • Stocks materials and parts.
  • Prepares & audits kits and issues materials & parts to production personnel. Resolves kitting problems.
  • Fills parts shortages.
  • Ensures completion of required paperwork for incoming and outgoing materials and parts.
  • Performs other duties as required, including cycle counting, inven­tory activities and general housekeeping of stockroom areas.
  • Performs moderate physical efforts Must be computer literate.

Education/Experience/Training::

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/associate’s degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. 
  • Must be able to read and write, add and subtract whole numbers, and to carry out instructions. 
  • Requires stockroom, kitting, cycle counting and receiving experience, using a computerized inventory control system.

Additional Requirements:

  • Flexible to work varied shifts, overtime and weekends.
  • Able to stoop, bend, kneel, and squat for extended periods of time.
  • Able to push, pull and reach for extended periods of time.
  • Must have good repetitive manual dexterity with both hands.
  • Must have sufficient vision to see relative positions of small parts and able to discern symmetry and proper alignment.
  • Able to move items up to 35 pounds for distances of up to 50 feet.
  • Will be exposed to some or all of the following: fumes, dust, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather, moving mechanical parts and moderate to loud noise levels.
  • Ability to type for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • The ability to obtain a future Security Clearance is required for the role. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $36,920-65,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. Fisica Inc. also offers a variety of benefits, including relocation stipend, 401(k), PTO, EAP, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, and schedule type.
