As Party Teller continues to expand its retail footprint, we are looking for an experienced and hands-on Warehouse Lead to lead our San Leandro warehouse operations and support our growing network of retail stores.
The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for receiving, inventory control, storage, order fulfillment, store replenishment, shipping, warehouse safety, and team leadership. This role will work closely with Supply Chain, Store Operations, and other corporate teams to ensure products move accurately and efficiently from the warehouse to our stores.
What You'll Do
Warehouse Operations
Lead and manage all day-to-day warehouse operations, including receiving, unloading, put-away, storage, picking, packing, staging, shipping, and store replenishment.
Ensure merchandise is received, processed, stored, and distributed accurately and efficiently.
Establish and maintain organized warehouse layouts and clearly defined storage locations.
Ensure products are properly labeled, stored, and handled to minimize damage and loss.
Maintain a clean, safe, efficient, and well-organized warehouse environment.
Develop and improve warehouse SOPs, workflows, and operational processes.
Ensure daily operational priorities are completed accurately and on schedule.
Receiving & Inventory Management
Oversee inbound shipments from domestic and international suppliers.
Verify incoming merchandise against purchase orders, packing lists, and receiving documentation.
Investigate and resolve receiving discrepancies, shortages, damages, and inventory issues.
Maintain accurate inventory records within company systems.
Conduct cycle counts and physical inventory counts and investigate inventory variances.
Monitor inventory accuracy and implement corrective actions when discrepancies occur.
Maintain strong inventory controls to reduce shrink, loss, and product damage.
Coordinate with Supply Chain and Store Operations to ensure appropriate inventory availability for each store.
Store Replenishment & Distribution
Coordinate product replenishment and transfers between the warehouse and Party Teller retail locations.
Prioritize store orders based on inventory levels, sales needs, seasonal demand, promotions, and Grand Opening schedules.
Ensure store shipments are picked, packed, labeled, staged, and shipped accurately and on time.
Work closely with Store Managers to resolve inventory, delivery, and replenishment issues.
Support urgent product transfers and seasonal inventory needs.
Team Leadership & Development
Recruit, train, coach, schedule, and supervise warehouse associates.
Establish clear productivity, accuracy, attendance, safety, and performance expectations.
Assign daily responsibilities and monitor employee productivity.
Conduct regular team meetings and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
Ensure adequate staffing based on receiving schedules, shipment volume, and business needs.
Support employee performance management and development.
Productivity & Cost Control
Monitor warehouse labor productivity and staffing levels.
Manage labor hours and overtime while maintaining operational performance.
Identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary handling, transportation, storage, and operating costs.
Track key warehouse performance indicators and develop action plans when targets are not met.
Partner with management to improve warehouse efficiency and control operating expenses.

Maintain a safe working environment and ensure compliance with applicable workplace safety requirements.
Ensure employees receive appropriate safety and equipment training.
Conduct regular warehouse safety inspections and promptly correct identified hazards.
Maintain clear aisles, exits, loading areas, and emergency access.
Ensure proper use and maintenance of warehouse equipment.
Maintain required safety documentation, incident reports, and training records.
Promote safe lifting, material-handling, and equipment-operation practices.
New Store Opening Support
As Party Teller continues to expand, the Warehouse Manager will play an important role in supporting new store openings.
Responsibilities may include:
Preparing opening inventory for new stores.
Coordinating large initial store shipments.
Organizing merchandise by department, category, or store layout when needed.
Coordinating delivery schedules with Store Operations and Supply Chain.
Supporting fixture, equipment, and supply distribution.
Responding quickly to inventory shortages and operational needs during store openings.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner closely with Supply Chain, Store Operations, Purchasing, Finance, IT, and other corporate teams.
Communicate inventory discrepancies, shipment delays, receiving issues, and operational risks promptly.
Coordinate with transportation providers, suppliers, vendors, and other external partners.
Support continuous improvement initiatives across warehouse and retail operations.
Required Qualifications
3+ years of warehouse, distribution, inventory, logistics, or related operations experience.
2+ years of warehouse supervisory or management experience.
Strong experience with receiving, inventory control, picking, shipping, and warehouse organization.
Proven experience leading and developing warehouse employees.
Strong understanding of inventory accuracy, cycle counting, and loss prevention.
Experience managing labor, scheduling, productivity, and operational priorities.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to analyze operational data and identify opportunities for improvement.
Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced and rapidly growing environment.
Ability to work flexible hours during peak seasons, large receiving periods, inventory counts, and new store openings as business needs require.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting multi-store retail operations.
Experience in retail distribution, consumer products, seasonal merchandise, or high-SKU environments.
Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP, inventory management, or POS-related inventory systems.
Experience with international inbound shipments and container receiving is a plus.
Experience supporting new store openings is highly preferred.
Forklift and pallet jack experience or certification is preferred.
Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Chinese is a plus.
Physical Requirements
Ability to regularly walk and stand throughout the warehouse.
Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and perform other physical warehouse activities as required.
Ability to safely lift and move merchandise and warehouse materials consistent with company safety procedures.
Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying activity levels and seasonal workload demands.
