The Sourcing organization is the functional lead for the procurement of materials and services at Pacific Gas and Electric Company. The department collaborates with internal clients and suppliers to develop mutually beneficial total cost solutions for goods and services. The department provides the following services to internal clients: procurement of goods and services, strategic sourcing and cost savings, supplier relationship management, execution and outreach, compliance management and ongoing procurement field support and management of the procure to pay cycle

 

Position Summary

The Supply Chain Intern will be responsible for supporting the DCPP procurement team which includes material coordination, technical and commercial procurement.  They will help with research, data analysis, forecasting and reporting in support of business decision making, strategy and operations. The Intern will participate in business process improvement, quality control and other initiatives.

 

PG&E is providing the hourly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual hourly rate paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.

 

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $24.52 to $35.37.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Create and manage SAP procurement master data to facilitate improvement of purchase order logistics and related business processes.
  • Assist team in various data analysis and clean-up activities
  • Help analyze material usage trends and suggest improvements for efficiency
  • Collaborate with the logistics team to optimize storage and investment recovery processes
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives
  • Assist team retrieving drawings, researching material history and technical information  

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in a B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering or Industrial Technologies or other Engineering related disciplines
  • Students must be continuing their education towards their degree during and/or after the internship

Desired Qualifications:

  • Business computer skills such as Microsoft Office Suite Programs (emphasis on Excel, Word and Teams) and Access
  • Power BI
  • Knowledge of database management and proficient at data analysis and manipulation
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Able to follow Safety First principles
