Mechanical Engineering Co-Op - Fall 2026

The Role:
Our site in San Luis Obispo, CA is seeking a Mechanical Engineering, Co-Op to join our team for the Fall 2026 season. This assignment is intended to be 6 months in duration.
In this role, you will support the design, development, and testing of advanced gas purification systems. Working closely with senior engineers, you will contribute to the creation of mechanical components and assemblies, assist in CAD modeling, perform basic fluid and thermal analyses, and help prepare documentation for prototypes and production.

What You’ll Do:

• Solid modeling and drafting using SolidWorks
• BOM creation and engineering documentation using SAP
• Document design changes, test results, and engineering reports
• Contribute new and innovative solutions
• Build a peer network

What We Seek:

• Familiarity with CAD tools (e.g. SolidWorks)
• Basic understanding of fluid mechanics and materials science
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Desired Major(s) & Graduation Year:

• BS in Mechanical Engineering
• Graduation Year: 2027/2028

Eligibility:

• Must be a currently enrolled student
• Available to work 40 hours a week, M-F (8a-5p) beginning in June, working through December.
• Must be familiar with the university’s requirements to participate in a co-op program

Compensation: $20-$32 hourly range with actual pay dependent on graduation year and candidate skillset
