(SDVLP) is the oldest and most comprehensive pro bono legal services program in San Diego County. SDVLP’s mission is to provide equal access to the justice system by serving as a bridge between indigent and other disadvantaged people in San Diego County and the volunteer lawyers who are willing to donate their time and resources. Our team of talented and passionate employees is collegial, supportive, and committed to providing top-quality legal services to indigent, vulnerable San Diegans. OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY:  The Legal Administrative Assistant will support the work of the Staff Attorney at the North County Family Justice Center (FJC) in San Marcos by providing legal services to victims of abuse. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: The Legal Administrative Assistant will be responsible for: Screening applicants to determine eligibility for services and conducting intake of new clients; Assisting in providing client services; Maintain accurate program records, including client and volunteer information, to support operational processes, reporting, and other administrative needs; Collaborating with Family Justice Center staff to effectively coordinate legal services; Maintaining client files and creating forms and documents; Coordinating volunteer schedules; Assisting in the recruitment and training of volunteers; Assisting in the scheduling of presentations and trainings; Providing coverage and support at various SDVLP locations across San Diego County based on organizational and operational needs; Translating/interpreting for clients, as appropriate; Traveling to/from court for filing legal documents, delivery to the Sheriffs for service, and returning documents to the legal clinic; and Engaging in other tasks and projects as needed to further SDVLP’s mission.   QUALIFICATIONS Fluency (written and verbal) in Spanish and English required; Strong Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint skills required; At least 6 months of general office administration experience required; and Must have dependable transportation, and a clean driving record. Valid driver’s license with proof of insurance is required; and Associate degree. WORK ENVIRONMENT: This is a full-time position that will be in the office 5 days per week at the North Family Justice Center located in San Marcos; and Work hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; 37.50-hour work week.
