POSITION TITLE:                                    Production Supervisor 

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:               Plant Manager

PAY STRUCTURE:                                   Hourly

PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION:              Provide direction and management support to all production areas to achieve plant performance objectives.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead day-to-day production operations, meeting or exceeding KPIs for the plant, departments and individuals, including completing assigned tasks and project work in an efficient, timely manner 
  • Continually develop the culture within the facility focusing on employee safety, quality, continuous improvement, and teamwork
  • Coach, motivate, engage, and hold accountable employees in all aspects of operations to support the culture, execute appropriate strategies in areas such as retention, performance management, and employee development
  • Urgently communicate and resolve all quality and production issues with appropriate department leadership and team members; proactively communicate the information to plant manager along with resolution plan
  • Monitor and improve operation costs and production processes by determining and implementing cost reduction and lean initiatives
  • Plan, create, and distribute production schedule 
  • Balance safety, quality, costs, and production efficiency while meeting customer demands
  • Manage and evaluate resources to ensure maximum productivity and minimal downtime
  • Oversee manufacturing operations to ensure standardization in production processes
  • Provide motivation, support, and guidance to direct reports and all production associates while supporting the values and aspirations of the company
  • Establish workflow policies that enhance speed and efficiency without compromising product safety or quality
  • Assess risks and recommend operational changes as needed to resolve production and associate issues
  • Fully participate in and support Corvac’s Environmental Management Systems
  • Fully participate in and support Corvac’s Quality Management System.

Note: Through key management, decision making, and constant interaction within the organization, this position has a direct impact on the Quality Management System


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:      

  • Operating knowledge of the equipment and related processes
  • Basic financial acumen
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient with computer, including Microsoft Office, email, and various software systems
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Reliable, with high integrity, strict confidentiality and strong work ethic
  • 5+ years of leadership with 2+ years in a supervisory/management capacity in Tier 1 automotive manufacturing operations
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Ability to coach and mentor associates on a one-on-one basis, as well as a team setting
  • Proven ability in production planning and process management required 
  • Self-driven with ability to deal with and solve complex issues required
