Job Description
About the RoleĀ Ā
Working under minimal supervision, the Facilities Project Manager provides project management services for facilities-related projects supporting operational needs across the institution. This role focuses on the coordination and delivery of large repair projects, small to mid-size renovations, and major technical or infrastructure upgrades.Ā
Ā
The Facilities Project Manager will manage projects typically ranging from approximately $10K to $2M+, including building system repairs, interior renovations, space reconfigurations, deferred maintenance, and upgrades to critical infrastructure (HVAC, electrical, life safety, and other technical systems).Ā

This role works closely with internal stakeholders across all divisions, as well as external consultants, contractors, and vendors, to define project requirements, coordinate execution, and ensure successful delivery. The position reports to theĀ Associate Director of FacilitiesĀ with aĀ dotted line to theĀ Capital Programs Senior Project Manager.Ā

Essential DutiesĀ Ā
Develops project scopes andĀ objectivesĀ in collaboration with stakeholders, ensuring alignment with operational needs and technical feasibility.Ā
Manages a portfolio of facilities projects, including large repairs, renovations, and system upgrades.Ā
Develops and manages project budgets; tracks expenditures to ensure alignment with approved funding and scope.Ā
DevelopsĀ project schedules andĀ ensuresĀ timelyĀ delivery with minimal disruption to campus operations.Ā
Coordinates with internal departments, contractors, consultants, and vendors throughout all phases of projects.Ā
OverseesĀ procurement processes, including scopes of work, bid coordination, and contract administration.Ā
Ensures projectsĀ comply withĀ applicable codes, regulations, and institutional standards.Ā
Identifies, assesses, and manages project risks and operational impacts.Ā
Reviews plans, specifications, and technical documents to support project execution.Ā
Coordinates project activities in active, occupied environments with sensitivity to visitors, staff, and collections.Ā
Prepares,Ā maintains, and administers project documentation and reporting.Ā
Supports continuous improvement of facilities project delivery processes.Ā
May perform other project-related and departmental duties as assigned.Ā

Candidate Requirements and ExperienceĀ Ā
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a proactive andĀ solutions-oriented approach.Ā
Bachelorās degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Facilities Management, orĀ a relatedĀ field (or equivalent experience).Ā
Minimum of 5 years of experience managing facilities-related projects, including repairs, renovations, and building systems upgrades.Ā
Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent projects in operational or occupied environments.Ā
Experience coordinating with internal stakeholders and external vendors/contractors.Ā
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.Ā
Working knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety, etc.).Ā
Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and technical documents.Ā
Understanding ofĀ project risks and ability to proactively address issues.Ā
Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and sound professional judgment.Ā
Strong customer service orientation with emphasis on collaboration and responsiveness.Ā
ProficiencyĀ in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), project scheduling tools (MS Project or similar), and plan review tools (e.g., Bluebeam); familiarity with AutoCAD is a plus.Ā

The Huntington campus is extensive and diverse; this role requires working across indoor and outdoor environments.Ā
Regular site walks, coordination in active construction/repair areas, and interaction with staff and visitors areĀ required.Ā

Pay Range: $75,000.00-$80,000.00 annually. Commensurate with experience.
