Zoox is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the team building the tools that power our autonomous ride-sharing service. The Rider Support Tools team plays a critical role in bringing Zoox’s mission—delivering safe, seamless autonomous mobility to the world—to life.


This team develops the systems that enable the safe, efficient operation of our rapidly growing fleet of autonomous robotaxis and ensure exceptional rider experiences. As an Engineering Manager, you will partner closely with product managers, designers, QA engineers, and remote operators to deliver full-stack web applications that monitor and support the fleet at scale, power in-vehicle visualization systems, and enable real-time rider support.

In this role, you will:
  • Lead a team of highly skilled engineers building large-scale web applications to support Zoox's autonomous robotaxi service.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Design, and Executive leadership to translate business objectives into a high-impact technical roadmap.
  • Be the primary advocate for the team, grow its engineers, help resolve conflicts, and recognize people while fostering inclusivity, collaboration, and high morale.
  • Strategically manage resources to enhance overall team efficiency, ensuring clear prioritization of feature delivery against technical stability.
  • Provide technical support on important architectural decisions across frontend, backend, infrastructure, and AI investments. 
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, perform code reviews, and promote engineering best practices


Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field and a minimum of 2 years of experience in Engineering Management.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience developing and maintaining full-stack web applications.
  • Proficiency with modern front-end frameworks such as Vue, React, or Svelte.
  • Experience working with AWS or comparable cloud infrastructure platforms.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.

$215,000 - $265,000 a year
Base Salary Range

There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. The listed range applies only to the base salary. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.

Zoox also offers a comprehensive package of benefits, including paid time off (e.g. sick leave, vacation, bereavement), unpaid time off, Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights, Amazon RSUs, health insurance, long-term care insurance, long-term and short-term disability insurance, and life insurance.
