Overview

The Sales and Marketing Director is responsible to the Executive Director for planning, developing, directing and coordinating all aspects of sales and marketing for the Community. This is accomplished through the effective management of a team of marketing professionals and collaboration with Regional Marketing Consultants.

Responsibilities

  • Develops the annual marketing plan and budget with input from Executive Staff to optimize program offerings to identified markets of older adults. Participates in planning new unit availability, pricing levels, marketable services, and advertising themes.
  • May manages a marketing team of sales and sales support personnel to drive and achieve the Outreach and Marketing plans for the community.
  • Manages advertising and promotional expenditures, initiating contracts with advertising resources for ad creation and placement. Oversees creation, editing, and distribution of sales and collateral materials, in concert with overall ECA marketing standards.
  • Plans and executes effective outreach to increase community awareness of the Community and quality aging services in general.
  • Represents and promotes ECA and the Community to the larger community through special promotional events, prospective resident seminars, distribution of materials, and presentations.
  • Manages sales activities for all levels of care, screening, and interviewing of prospective residents and family members. Negotiates entrance fees and monthly rates with prospective residents. 
  • Oversees and coordinates application and admission processes, contractual documentation and resident handbooks, establishment of resident file and face sheets in computer tracking system.
  • Maintains sales tracking processes such as prospect lists, sales activity reports, and facility vacancy and room readiness. Generates weekly census and monthly activity status.
  • Participates in level of care meetings for new residents. Collaborates closely with management team to coordinate new admissions and internal moves of residents from one accommodation to another, and to find solutions to meet the changing needs of residents.
  • Provides training to staff as needed in customer relations and related topics.
  • Delivers a first impression aligned with our Culture of Excellence and serves as a resource and point of contact for those interested in senior living.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What you need to succeed:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, or a related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven track record in closing sales, and leads.
  • New development lease up experience preferred
  • Two or more years in the senior sales and marketing environment
  • Demonstrated sales experience in senior living, hotel / hospitality or related healthcare environment preferred (i.e., CCRC, active adult, assisted living, skilled nursing, long term care, hospice, hospital, or home health)
  • Previous sales experience and successful track record in identifying and building local relationships to drive business
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and customer service skills.
  • Schedule flexibility to work one weekend day per week as needed (usually a Tuesday-Saturday schedule) as well as some evenings as necessary.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and other tools (e.g. CRM)
  • Completion of a background check, physical, fingerprint, and TB test per state/local guidelines.
  • Current CPR and FIrst Aid training may be required in certain jurisdictions per Title 22.
