Job DetailsLevel: ManagementJob Location: VCH Partners Inc - San Rafael, CA 94901Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 Salary/yearJob Shift: DayJob Category: Human ResourcesThe Office Manager / HR Generalist is responsible for managing the day-to-day Human Resources functions while also providing general administrative and office support. This is a hands-on role that requires a strong HR background, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. While HR will be the primary focus, this position will also take on a variety of administrative and business support responsibilities as needed. The ideal candidate is resourceful, adaptable, comfortable wearing multiple hats, and able to work independently. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES  Human Resources Serve as a primary HR resource for employees and managers across multiple restaurant locations. Manage the full range of day-to-day HR functions, including employee lifecycle administration, employee relations, investigations, compliance, legal correspondence, workers’ compensation, leave management, and other HR matters. Support management with employee relations, performance, disciplinary matters, and workplace concerns. Conduct and/or assist with employee investigations and ensure appropriate documentation and follow-up. Manage and track leaves of absence, accommodations, workers' compensation matters, and return-to-work documentation. Assist with benefits administration, including enrollment, employee questions, and annual open enrollment. Partner with the payroll department to resolve employee issues and ensure employee information is accurate and up to date. Develop, maintain, and communicate company policies, procedures, forms, and HR materials. Assist with management training and employee development programs. Monitor California employment law and compliance requirements and communicate relevant changes to management. Ensure consistent application of company policies and practices across locations. Office & Administrative Support Oversee the organization and day-to-day needs of the company office. Maintain organized digital and physical files and records. Manage office supplies, equipment, mail, deliveries, and general administrative needs. Prepare documents, spreadsheets, reports, communications, and other materials as needed. Coordinate meetings, trainings, and other relevant administrative projects. Communicate with vendors, service providers, and business partners as needed. Take ownership of special projects and other administrative responsibilities that support the business.   QualificationsMust have and able to do all of the following: Fluent in English Professional working proficiency in Spanish, both written and verbal Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 3+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in an HR Generalist or HR Manager role. Strong knowledge of California employment laws and HR practices. Experience supporting a large hourly workforce; restaurant, hospitality, retail, or similar environments preferred. Experience with employee relations, performance management, investigations, leaves, and accommodations. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through. Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive employee and company matters. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace; HRIS and payroll system experience preferred.
