Job Description Summary:

Under general supervision, this position provides Human Resources Services to employees, departments, affiliates, and external customers of Marin General Hospital. It will be responsible for general HR duties, working closely with multiple HR specialties. This position is responsible for ensuring an overall engaged employee experience through multiple programs, processes, and trainings. The position works directly with leaders to gain a full understanding of operational needs and drives best practices in on-boarding of staff.

Job Requirements, Prerequisites and Essential Functions:

Job Specifications:

Education:

  • A bachelor’s degree in human resource management or equivalent field is preferred.

  • Master’s Degree in Human Resources or Business Management highly desirable.

Experience:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in human resource, which includes significant responsibility in the areas of employment and recruitment, training/development, and/or manager coaching, preferably at a Business Partner level.

License and Certifications:

  • Calif Drivers Class C (CALC) required at hire.

Prerequisite Skills:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in HR, preferably managing and maintaining HR files independently suggesting/inputting best practices, and acting as subject matter expert in at least one area (go to for employees and managers)

  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Excellent communication skills across mediums, solution-based presenting, always clear and concise

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a timely manner

  • Meticulous attention to detail, and understanding of employment laws

  • Strong interpersonal skills essential to ensure service excellence in Human Resources and interdepartmental relationships

  • Ability to work with others in a flexible and cooperative manner

  • Employees in this position do not have access to protected health information

Duties And Responsibilities:

Essential (Not Modifiable)

  • Processing of all employee paperwork and personnel transactions for the area(s) of responsibility in a timely and accurate manner

  • Responsible for maintaining any record-keeping and reporting databases in area(s) of responsibility. This includes all applicable data displays

  • Responsible for responding to inquiries and resolving any discrepancies in area(s) of responsibility. Act as liaison with appropriate vendors

  • Enters assigned data into HRIS and/or related database(s) in a timely and accurate manner, meeting all assigned timelines. Generates specific reports from databases on a scheduled and as needed basis. Verifies reports as requested

  • May provide basic training and guidance in area(s) of expertise to other Human Resources staff

  • Provides timely and accurate information in a courteous manner to employees and external customers regarding Human Resources processes, personnel policies, and procedures

  • Assists other Human Resources staff with special projects on an as needed basis

Secondary (Modifiable)

  • Provides front desk coverage and performs other essential functions associated with the front desk

  • Additional duties as assigned

The posted pay range complies with applicable law and reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this role. Individual pay is set by skills, experience, qualifications, and internal/market equity, consistent with MarinHealth’s compensation philosophy. Positions covered by collective bargaining agreements are governed by those agreements.
