Position:  Manufacturing Technician

Salary: $30.00 - $36.00 per hour. The successful candidate's starting base will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location.  It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the base range for this role.  

Who You Are
You are a skilled manufacturing technician with hands‑on experience in GMP environments and a strong command of precision assembly work. You’re comfortable working with small components, PCB soldering, microscopes, and automated processes, and you take pride in producing high‑quality, reliable instruments. You collaborate well with others, communicate issues proactively, and contribute to continuous improvement through Lean and 5S practices.
Job Responsibilities and Expectations

  • Assemble instruments using small hand tools, calibrated equipment, microscopes, and test fixtures.
  • Perform in‑process quality checks and communicate safety, quality, or process concerns promptly.
  • Identify and report unacceptable materials or sub‑assemblies to the Team Lead or Manager.
  • Follow GMP and GDP standards in all documentation and production activities.
  • Collaborate with Team Leads, Technicians, Engineers, and Managers to resolve line issues and recommend improvements.
  • Participate in Lean and 5S activities and support ongoing process improvements.
  • Coach and guide team members on manufacturing processes and SOPs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • AS degree and four or more years of experience in a GMP environment (medical device, clean room, or chip production preferred).
  • Proficiency in soldering techniques, including PCB soldering.
  • Ability to work with small components, adhesives, and microscopes.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. following safety protocols.
  • Effective teamwork and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in clean room or MEMS chip production.
  • Lean and 5S experience.

Physical Requirements
These physical requirements are not exhaustive, and additional job-related physical requirements may be added to these on an as-needed basis.

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds occasionally, following all safety protocols.
  • Frequent standing and walking throughout the production area during assembly and testing activities.
  • Regular use of hands and fingers to handle small components, perform PCB soldering, operate microscopes, and work with adhesives and precision tools.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while performing detailed assembly or microscope‑based work.
  • Good hand–eye coordination and fine motor skills required for precision assembly and soldering tasks.
  • Visual acuity sufficient to perform inspections, read SOPs, interpret measurements, and work under microscopes.
  • Ability to bend, reach, and stoop as needed to access equipment, tools, and materials.
  • Comfort working in a clean‑room or controlled manufacturing environment, including wearing PPE such as lab coats, gloves, safety glasses, and other protective gear.
  • Ability to work around moderate noise levels typical of a manufacturing environment.
