The Medical Assistant works with the physician and other members of the primary or specialty care team by performing a variety of clinical and administrative patient-related duties, in the “Front Office” or “Back Office”. The medical assistant also works to fulfill a variety of patient needs and ensures smooth patient flow within the department, including gathering, organizing and documenting healthcare data information. Additionally, if assigned to the Call Center, the MA will be responsible for answering and routing patient calls, scheduling of patient appointments per department guidelines.
