Responsibilities
- Work to resolve and diagnose computer server issues at scale.
- Escalate issues and work with remote engineering teams.
- Work within rack lifecycle processes with a focus on helping build out and support cloud scale compute and storage environments.
- Work within Meta's ticketing system.
- Serve as first point of contact for break fix technicians.
- Maintain responsibility for assisting with projects (retrofits, new process details, etc.) and repairs throughout the data center.
- Understand and debug hardware and Linux OS related issues.
- Identify and help create documentation for the global data center knowledge base.
- Assist with process improvements and best practices in data center operations.
- Participate in on-call rotation (once a month on call for a week after hours, first point of contact).
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires a Master's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Telecommunications, Cyber Forensics, Security or a related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or infrastructure-related occupation
- Requires 2 years of experience in the following:
- Designing, deploying, and operating large scale networks
- Configuring and troubleshooting routing and switching protocols (BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, MPLS, RSVP-TE, VRRP, HSRP)
- Configuring and troubleshooting Multi-protocol BGP (MP-BGP)
- Network protocols (TCP/UDP, DHCP, DNS)
- Experience working in a multi-vendor environment with hands-on experience with networking hardware
- Physical infrastructure design including structured cabling and fiber-optic cabling
- Oversee multiple projects simultaneously and delivering against deadlines
- Solving problems in a global team environment
- IPv4 and IPv6
$147,490/year to $183,920/year + bonus + equity + benefits
