TITLE: Facilities Management Technician DEPARTMENT: Facilities Management

STATUS: Full Time - 40 hours per week

HOURS: Primarily Day shift. Occasional afternoon shift and weekend hours may be required based on needs of the department. Position requires call time. Low Census may be required in response to workload demand.
 

JOB SUMMARY: 

Under the supervision of the Facilities Management Manager, performs semi-skilled construction, maintenance, modification and repair activities according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. May be required to drive to various off-site hospital buildings to perform duties. Performs all assigned tasks effectively, in a responsible team environment. Uses department equipment properly. Maintains a high quality standard while performing job duties.

QUALIFICATIONS/POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

A. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  1. High School graduate or equivalent, required
  2. Previous experience in facility management desirable.
  3. General knowledge of construction, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, preferred.
  4. Ability to work individually and in a team setting
  5. Self-directed
  6. Ability to read, write and speak the English language

B. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION

1. Must possess a valid driver's license and meet the insurability requirements of the company's vehicle insurance carrier.

  1. Ability to establish effective working relationships and effective communication with peers, patients, families, physicians and other support personnel.
  2. Supports and contributes to the total hospital system by maintaining hospital-wide perspective and serving on department/hospital committees as requested.
  3. Demonstrates ability to follow directions and perform duties as assigned. 
  4. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a stressful situation while maintaining composure and excellence in the delivery of services. 
  5. Ability to apply the principles of excellence and quality services in the Facilities Management Department.
  6. Evidence of a sense of responsibility, initiative, honesty and positive attitude.
  7. Knowledge and ability to learn the safe use of equipment used in the department.
