Strategic Objective

The Controller is responsible for overseeing the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of Inspire Leadership Network’s accounting and financial operations. This role ensures timely and accurate financial reporting, maintains strong internal controls, and supports organizational growth through disciplined financial management. The Controller serves as a strategic partner to leadership by shepherding financial systems, executing and improving accounting processes, and ensuring compliance with all financial policies and regulations. Success in this role is demonstrated through accurate financial reporting, operational efficiency, proactive problem-solving, and strong stewardship of company resources.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Maintain and improve internal accounting controls, policies, and financial procedures.
  • Monitor cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, and support financial performance metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and other applicable financial requirements.
  • Partner with leadership to provide financial analysis and recommendations that support strategic decision-making.
  • Coordinate external tax preparation and other financial reviews.
  • Monitor and maintain functionality, connectivity and integration of accounting systems with operating systems, with support from IT.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiencies across financial systems and workflows.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting and finance team members as applicable.
  • Support special financial projects and ad hoc reporting requests.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • CPA designation preferred.
  • 8-12 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Experience managing financial close processes and audits.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and accounting/ERP systems, preferably NetSuite.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Proven ability to lead, develop, and collaborate with teams.
