Position Summary

The Tax Manager is responsible for managing the company’s overall tax function, including tax compliance, tax provision/financial reporting, planning, and tax risk management activities. This role serves as the primary point of contact for all tax-related matters and independently oversees federal, state, and local tax requirements.

 

The Tax Manager is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely tax filings, managing all tax accounting and reporting requirements, supporting strategic tax initiatives, and partnering with Finance, Accounting, Operations, and external advisors to optimize the company’s tax position.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Tax Compliance & Reporting

  • Manage and prepare federal, state, and local income tax, franchise tax, and other applicable tax filings.
  • Oversee multi-state tax compliance requirements, including sales and use tax filings, registrations, and related reporting obligations.
  • Support R&D tax credits, capital investment incentives, and other manufacturing-specific tax opportunities.

Tax Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Prepare and manage quarterly and annual tax provisions in accordance with IFRS and US GAAP, (ASC 740 and IAS 12).
  • Partner with Accounting and Finance teams to ensure proper tax treatment of business transactions.

Tax Planning & Strategy

  • Monitor changes in federal and state tax laws and assess potential impacts on the organization.
  • Provide tax guidance and recommendations to support business decisions.

Tax Audits

  • Serve as the primary contact for external tax advisors, auditors, and consultants.
  • Manage state and local tax audits, including information requests and audit responses. Provide support for Federal tax audits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • CPA license preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in corporate tax and/or public accounting.
  • Working knowledge of US federal and multi-state in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Experience with tax provision calculations and ASC 740 requirements. IFRS/IAS 12 experience preferred.
  • Experience with tax provision and compliance software (experience with OneSource Tax Provision and Income Tax software preferred)
