Regional Account Manager, PNH, Salt Lake City, UT
This is what you will do:Â
The Regional Account Manager (RAM) position is within our Hematology and Nephrology Franchise, a division of Alexion and will focus on PNH. The RAM will be assigned a sales territory focused on Academic Centers and Hospital Systems hospitals, private practices, and infusion centers, primarily focused on Hematology. This individual would be responsible for the growth and expansion of PNH portfolio and other products, following FDA approval, for appropriate specialists. Â
You will be responsible for:Â
- Consistently achieving or exceeding sales objectives in assigned territoryÂ
- Creating and maintaining strategically targeted account-specific business plans that reflect an in-depth understanding of local market forces impacting product salesÂ
- Developing and maintaining strong in-depth clinical, technical, and scientific knowledgeÂ
- Demonstrating the ability to educate on the clinical approach to the disease states leading to a successful differential diagnosis and appropriate testing and treatment of patient populationÂ
- Appropriately utilizing all marketing tools and resources including power point presentationsÂ
- Collaborating closely with stakeholders, including aHUS RAM(s), TLL(s), SAL(s), MSL(s) and Market Access, FRM(s), PEM(s), Diagnostics, and enterprise partnersÂ
- Leading the implementation for our patient-centric partnership model which will include physicians, their staff, patients, clinics, and hospitalsÂ
- The execution of local promotional activities and programs for therapeutic areasÂ
- Providing a high level of product expertise and customer service to all accountsÂ
- Tracking activities and submits reports on sales activities accurately & on-timeÂ
- Being trained to understand and demonstrate proper use of products to clinicians in a hospital environmentÂ
- The ability to handle customer questions and objections in a way that is consistent with product indications and sales training methodology, including ability to compliantly triage inquiries to appropriate partnerÂ
- Being an effective administrator who efficiently manages time, CRM tool, resources, and workloadÂ
- Proactively interacting with Alexion management to refine product and market initiativesÂ
- The execution of local promotional activities and programs for therapeutic areasÂ
- Working with the highest degree of professionalism and in accordance with the company’s policies and Code of Ethics and Business ConductÂ
You will need to have:Â
- Bachelor’s degreeÂ
- 5 years pharmaceutical sales or equivalent experience (e.g., Biotech or Medical Device) or 5 years’ experience in a medical setting Â
- Proven, documented track record for delivering consistent, 'Top-tier' sales results in Institutions and hospital systemsÂ
- Ability to work effectively independently and in an interdependent, team-oriented environment on a consistent basisÂ
- Strong clinical and account selling, analytical and strategic skills to develop accountsÂ
- Demonstrated ability to successfully seek out and qualify leads and profile new accountsÂ
- Ability to gain consistent access & develop strong, professional relationships for scientific exchange and promotion with healthcare providers in community
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and organizational abilitiesÂ
- Must live in the geographic territory or live within 50 miles of the geographic territory borderÂ
- Ability to travel within territory on a regular basis which will include frequent overnight and weekend travelÂ
- Valid driver's license and clean driving recordÂ
- The duties of this role are generally conducted in a field environment. We would prefer for you to have:Â
- Advanced or master’s degreeÂ
- 5 years pharmaceutical sales or equivalent experience (e.g., Biotech or Medical Device)Â
- Sales experience in the orphan or ultra-orphan areaÂ
- Bio/pharma; Hematology, and/or Oncology experienceÂ
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $152,813 to $229,219. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.  In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles) or to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
