As an Auto Glass Technician on the Portland Glass team, you will:

  • Inspect, remove, and install windshields, back glass, door glass, quarter glass, and other automotive glass.
  • Repair eligible windshield chips and cracks according to industry standards.
  • Inspect vehicles for damaged moldings, clips, seals, and related components.
  • Perform ADAS camera calibration or coordinate calibration when required.
  • Communicate professionally with customers and explain completed services, as well as complete required service documentation.
  • Follow company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and applicable industry standards.
  • Continue education of the latest products and procedures in auto glass repair, and earn a Portland Glass Auto Glass Certification and Autel Certification in ADAS Recalibrations.

Required qualifications:

  • Proficient use of hand tools and specialized auto glass equipment.
  • Ability to use technological devices such as computers, mobile devices and related technology efficiently.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Complete background check and drug screen in accordance with company guidelines.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Prior automotive glass experience or 3+ years of relevant experience in the automotive industry required.

Competitive pay: $20 -$25 per hour

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an Associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The Associate should be able to stand, sit in an office space, lift 75lbs on occasion, communicate, lift computer equipment, supplies, and materials, and use office equipment and computers. The Associate is exposed to typical office working conditions, as well as conditions in a workshop environment. The Associate must be able to lift and climb ladders, handle glass and related materials, and carry all needed equipment to perform measurements and design assessments.
