Customer Service Representative I

SUMMARY

Customer service representatives help customers, brokers and sales with questions, give customers information about products and services, and take orders.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• Associates Degree or 0-2 years related experience preferred.
• Some accounting experience is preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Time Management (the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities).
• Strong customer orientation.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Office Applications including Excel and Outlook on a daily basis.
• Ability to learn company software program for data entry.
• Professional phone skills.
• Some sales administration support – sales reports and other projects from Sales.
• Work in cold environment on occasion, small amount of time in freezer or cold dock warehouse – appropriate attire is provided.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure the safety and legality of food.

• Partner with Customer Service representatives to meet and exceed customer’s service expectations.
• Process customer orders and revisions for assigned territories.
• Process all paperwork and appropriate emails for assigned territories.
• Request delivery date changes from brokers/customers for assigned territories.
• Supply Accounting with shipped order paperwork for assigned territories.
• Work directly with assigned brokers/customers over the phone and by email.
• Provide Sales with information pertaining to orders, if necessary.
• Works closely with shipping / warehouse / transportation.
• Email Daily Order Report to appropriate parties.
• Cross Train within the department to have the ability to cover others when out.
• Provide support for Marketing for large show sample requests, when needed.
• Provide support for Company Store, when needed.
• Must be able to work additional hours or beyond standard schedule with little or no notice.
• Perform or assist with any operations, as required or directed, to maintain work flow or respond to production requirements.
• Performs other duties assigned as required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Determining timeframe: Never = 0 hours daily; Occasionally = 3 hours daily; Frequently = 3-6 hours daily; Constantly > 6 hours daily

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Be able to stand for at least an eight to twelve (8-12) hour period.

• Be able to lift, carry, handle and grasp at least 35 lbs (Constantly)

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high and will include, but not be limited to, production machinery, computers, printers, telephones, and normal communication. Hearing protection will be required for all in plant activities.
• Must be willing to work under various temperatures ranging from typical 45 to 95 degrees Fahrenheit.
