Wharton-Smith is currently seeking an experienced Digital Marketing Specialist. Our Digital Marketing Specialist is a creative and technical storyteller responsible for showcasing our projects, people, and culture through compelling digital media that strengthens brand visibility, supports recruiting, and enhances business development.

This role is designed for a marketing professional who understands how construction companies build trust in the marketplace, how visual storytelling influences owner and community perception, and how disciplined digital strategy contributes directly to reputation, engagement, and long-term growth.

The Digital Marketing Specialist leads day-to-day digital marketing execution across web, social media, video, and multimedia platforms. You will serve as the primary creator of visual and digital content, translating real-world construction activity into meaningful, audience-focused communication.

This role requires hands-on expertise in digital marketing, videography, photography, animation, and content strategy. You will set the visual standard, expand audience reach, and continuously improve how Wharton Smith presents itself in the digital space.

 

Core Responsibilities

Digital Strategy & Execution

  • Lead planning, execution, and optimization of digital marketing campaigns across website, email, and social media platforms.

  • Translate construction activities, milestones, and culture into clear, engaging digital storytelling that supports recruiting, client engagement, and brand awareness.

  • Monitor online and digital media trends and recommend tools, platforms, and strategies that improve visibility, engagement, and performance.

  • Track and analyze SEO, engagement, traffic, and lead metrics, providing actionable reporting and recommendations.

Multimedia Production & Storytelling

  • Serve as the organization’s primary photographer and videographer, capturing high-quality photo and video content at project sites, company events, recruiting initiatives, and internal functions.
  • Produce internal video messages, podcast-style recordings, and informational videos for employees, clients, and stakeholders.

  • Edit and deliver short-form and long-form videos for social media, website content, marketing campaigns, and presentations.

  • Design animation graphics, motion graphics, and special effects that enhance storytelling and elevate production quality.

  • Ensure all graphic, audio, photo, and video assets are properly indexed, stored, and maintained for long-term accessibility and reuse.

Social Media & Brand Presence

  • Assist in managing and expanding the company’s social media presence across platforms.

  • Identify innovative techniques and strategies to increase followers, strengthen engagement, and improve reach to target audiences.

  • Maintain brand voice, visual identity, and messaging consistency across all digital channels.

  • Collaborate with HR, operations, and business development teams to support recruiting campaigns, proposals, and company initiatives.

Website & Content Management

  • Manage and update website content, including project profiles, news features, multimedia galleries, and career pages.

  • Ensure digital content reflects current capabilities, active projects, and organizational culture.

  • Continuously improve user experience and content effectiveness through data-driven insights.

 

What Sets You Apart

Required Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in digital marketing, multimedia production, or content creation.

  • Demonstrated ability to produce professional photo, video, and digital content from concept through delivery.

  • Experience supporting brand growth, recruiting marketing, or business development initiatives.

  • Construction, architecture, or engineering industry experience preferred.

Technical & Creative Expertise

  • Proficiency in videography, photography, and editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, or similar platforms.
  • Experience creating motion graphics, animations, and visual effects.

  • Familiarity with social media management tools, CMS platforms, and SEO fundamentals.

  • Strong storytelling, writing, visual composition, and creative direction skills.

  • Self-directed, organized, and capable of managing multiple deadlines without sacrificing quality.

  • Collaborative communicator able to work effectively with field teams, leadership, and corporate departments.

Education & Other Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Authorized to work in the United States.

  • Ability to travel to project sites and company events for content capture.
