 Job Description:

The Finance Specialist plays a critical role in supporting students in understanding financial requirements for flight training. This role is responsible for managing financial operations for training programs and airline partners and ensuring accurate billing, revenue recognition, and accounts receivable management. This role partners closely with accounting, operations, and other internal departments to maintain financial accuracy and support reporting. 

Essential Functions:

  • Provide clear communication to customers regarding billing structures, account balances, and payment expectations.
  • Monitor student training activity daily to ensure accurate billing.
  • Manage billing processes within SAP, such as sales order creation and invoice generation.
  • Partner closely with the accounting team to support recordkeeping and reporting.
  • Support collections efforts and proactively work to reduce outstanding balances.
  • Develop and maintain Excel workbooks to track payments and receivables and audit customers’ financial transactions
  • Maintain accurate accounts receivable balances.
  • Oversee funds transfers and payment allocations to ensure timely and accurate posting.
  • Support month-end close activities, including revenue reporting, account cleanup, and financial reconciliation
  • Support admissions and sales efforts by developing pricing sheets and cost estimates for marketing and recruitment initiatives.
  • Participate in admissions events, school tours, and informational sessions to answer questions regarding funding.
  • Serve as the primary School Certifying Official for Veterans Education Benefits.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications:

  • Requires a 2-year post-secondary/associate’s degree with 4 years of prior related experience or a bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years prior related experience.
  • Financial accuracy and attention to detail
  • Advanced Microsoft 365 experience
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative mindset with cross-functional teams
  • Customer-focused approach with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to be flexible, as the role evolves based on department and Academy needs

      Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience in ERP systems, preferably SAP
  • Strong background in Microsoft Excel
