Position Overview


Avocet Aviation Services is seeking an experienced Level II Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Technician to support our FAA Part 145 heavy maintenance operations. This is a stand-alone, hands-on inspection role for a self-directed professional who can independently perform, interpret, and document NDT inspections critical to aircraft airworthiness.

What You’ll Do

  • Independently perform NDT inspections on aircraft structures, components, and assemblies
  • Apply and interpret certified NDT methods (Visual, PT, MT, UT, RT as authorized)
  • Evaluate indications and determine acceptance/rejection criteria
  • Accurate document inspection results and airworthiness findings
  • Coordinate inspections with Structures, Maintenance, Engineering, and Quality
  • Ensure full compliance with FAA regulations, approved data, and company procedures
  • Maintain inspection equipment, tooling, and calibration status



What We’re Looking For

  • Current NDT Level II certification in one or more methods (NAS 410, SNT-TC-1A, or company-approved program)
  • Aviation or aerospace NDT experience, preferably in heavy maintenance
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft structures, materials, corrosion, and damage assessment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Proficient in technical documentation and inspection records
  • Ability to work flexible schedules (nights, weekends, overtime as required)
  • Must meet airport badging, background check, and drug screening requirements



Preferred Qualifications

  • FAA Airframe (A) or A&P certification
  • Multi-method NDT certifications
  • Prior Part 145 repair station experience
  • Familiarity with OEM SRMs and engineering dispositions
