Could you be the full-time onsite Train Dispatcher in Sanford, US we’re looking for?

Join us as a Train Dispatcher and you will be looking at a career-defining role based in Sanford, FL. Dispatchers use computers and radio communications to control the safe movement of trains throughout specified rail network. The Dispatchers constantly monitor train movement and conditions affecting their movement, taking immediate action when necessary.

 

In you role as a Train Dispatcher, you will:

  • Interpret and apply operating and safety rules under the FRA, exercise good judgment, analyze problems and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Identify and distinguish colors displayed on a video monitor and video display in order to read track labels, switch indicator lights and other safety sensitive indications.
  • Communicate with personnel on weather or any other conditions affecting train movement.
  • Remotely control track switches and traffic signals and apply and remove blocking devices.
  • Other responsibilities include for keeping travel records, logs and schedules.

 

As our ideal candidate:

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • 2 – 4 years of experience.
  • Understand oral and written communications both general and technical.
  • Provide clear instructions/directions.
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly by radio, intercom and telephone.
  • FRA and DOT knowledge would be preferred.
