SUMMARY OF POSITION

Under shop supervision, the Tool Builder/Bencher is responsible for accurately and efficiently deburring and surface finishing tooling and parts manufactured to customer requirements.

REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered.Ā  Typical qualifications would be:

  • 2+ years of experience working in a metal and/or composite finishing environment
  • Be able to hand finish tight tolerance +/- 0.0025ā€ surface tolerance and finish using basic Laser Tracker Techniques
  • Thorough understanding of finishing techniques necessary for different materials
  • Thorough knowledge of air tools and various hand tools used in metal and composite tool finishing
  • Ability to fix tools with Out of Tolerance Condition
  • Ability to use manual inspection equipment and inspection techniques
  • Must provide own tools
  • This position must meet Export Control Compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22.C.F.R. is required

  • Experience with vacuum and helium test tools
  • Basic ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Forklift and crane operating skills and certificationĀ
