What You’ll Do:

The Field Technician to supports inspection, maintenance, transport, and on-site assembly of high value weapons, missile, and ground support equipment. The role operates under strict procedural controls, high accountability, and coordinated oversight with government and contractor stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, assemble, disassemble, and maintain weapons systems components, launch/missile support equipment, and specialized aerospace ground equipment per technical orders and work packages.

• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and structural systems; perform mechanical alignments and basic electronic troubleshooting.

• Maintain precise inventory accountability of assets, components, and specialized tools; prepare and update equipment logs and turnover documentation.

• Follow written procedures line by line with zero tolerance adherence to safety, quality, and technical order requirements.

• Support secure transport and timely delivery of presentation and mission equipment to offsite locations; manage vehicle and tool coordination as required.

• Participate in peer procedure reviews, procedure consolidation, and continuous improvement efforts to improve usability and compliance.

• Coordinate with facilities, program managers, and contracting teams to support site surveys, staging, and local sustainment activities.

Basic Qualifications:

This position is open as a dual level opportunity. We will consider candidates at a level 3 or level 4:

Based on your overall experience, education, years of experience, fit to the position, and interview evaluation will determine which level you are selected for.

Level 3 - High school diploma or equivalent.with 4+ years of hands-on experience installing, maintaining, or troubleshooting electronic/mechanical systems or field equipment.

Level 4 - High school diploma or equivalent.with 6+ years of hands-on experience installing, maintaining, or troubleshooting electronic/mechanical systems or field equipment.

• Experience maintenance mechanical and electronic [hands on]

-Military experience such as  Air Force 2W2X1 or 2M0XX career field or other Similar experience

• Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills; ability to work under pressure.

• Ability to travel frequently and work at customer sites; flexible schedule.

• Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in varied environmental conditions.

• US DOD Secret Security Clearance to start with ability attain US DOD Top Secret

Preferred Qualifications:

• Technical certificate or associate degree in electronics, electrical engineering technology, mechanical technology, or related field preferred.

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record; ability to operate and drive large equipment/vehicles.

• Training or certification in safety, vehicle operation, or specialized equipment handling.

• Familiarity with remote diagnostic tools, test equipment, and standard maintenance practices.

Primary Level Salary Range: $66,600.00 - $111,000.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $79,100.00 - $131,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
