About the Role:
The Downtown Club of Santa Barbara is looking for a passionate and dedicated Youth Nutrition Specialist to join our team! In this rewarding, part-time role, you'll have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the health and wellness of young people in the Santa Barbara community. If you love working with youth and have a passion for nutrition education, we want to hear from you!


Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver age-appropriate nutrition menus for youth members afterschool
  • Plan and promote healthy eating initiatives aligned with youth wellness goals
  • Collaborate with staff and program coordinators to integrate nutrition into existing youth programming
  • Assess and monitor the nutritional needs of youth participants and adjust programs accordingly
  • Maintain accurate records of program participation, outcomes, and progress
  • Engage with parents and guardians to reinforce healthy eating habits at home
Requirements:
  • Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Public Health, or a related field preferred but not required
  • Experience working with children or youth in an educational or community setting
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for diverse youth audiences
  • Ability to create engaging, fun and culturally sensitive nutrition content
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Enthusiastic, patient and youth-focused demeanor
