Job Summary:
The primary responsibility for the Certification Engineer is to secures global regulatory, safety, and wireless certifications (e.g., FCC, CE, UL, RoHS, BSMI) required for legal product sales. Translates complex international standards into actionable design requirements for the R&D team, ensuring products pass compliance testing on the first attempt. Minimizes design vulnerabilities by reviewing component specifications and product architecture during the early stages of development.Â
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate product regulatory testing, evaluation, and certification activities to ensure products meet applicable safety, EMC, environmental, and other regulatory requirements for targeted markets.
- Review product designs during early development stages to identify potential compliance risks and provide technical recommendations to engineering teams, reducing certification issues, redesigns, and delays later in the product lifecycle.
- Research and interpret applicable industry standards, regulatory requirements, and certification updates, and develop compliance strategies to ensure product designs and certification plans remain aligned with current requirements.
- Prepare, review, and maintain certification documentation and Technical Construction Files (TCFs), including test reports, specifications, declarations, and supporting technical records, to ensure accuracy, completeness, and regulatory traceability.
- Support regulatory and certification audits and monitor production compliance to ensure certified products, materials, components, and manufacturing processes remain consistent with approved specifications and certification requirements.
- Coordinate with certification agencies, third-party laboratories, vendors, and suppliers to manage testing schedules, technical requirements, documentation, issue resolution, and certification deliverables to support timely product approval.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Material Science.Â
Experience:
- 2-3 years of Hands-on Compliance Testing & Debugging Experience
- 2+ years of Regulatory Frameworks & Global Standards Interpretation
- 1+ years of Cross-Functional Project & Lab Management
- 1+ years of Factory Audit Preparation & Quality Management SystemsÂ
Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
Frequently works in office, laboratory, and manufacturing environments, requiring computer use, technical document review, product inspection, and regular movement between work areas. The role may involve occasional handling of test equipment or product samples and exposure to operating equipment, elevated noise levels, and other laboratory or production conditions; appropriate PPE may be required.Â
