Description
You will be joining a team of engineers to maintain Apple’s worldwide EMC facilities as well as conducting validation of products. This role includes review and development of test plans and test execution as well as preparation of test reports. You will configure hardware and software on the equipment under test and create scripts to manipulate hardware.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field, plus 1-3 years of experience of EMC testing in an accredited test facility Solid understanding of global EMC standards, including IEC/EN 61000-4-x, CISPR 32/35, IEC 61000-3-2/-3-3, FCC Part 15, as well as regional equivalents such as Europe (EN) and Japan (VCCI) Test and troubleshooting experience in a design environment with a solid understanding of product life cycles Familiar with EMC test equipment – spectrum analyzers, test receivers, signal generators, amplifiers, antennas, transient generators, oscilloscopes
Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree in electrical engineering or related field, plus 4 or more years of experience of EMC testing in an accredited test facility Experience in rework including trace and component soldering from 0805 down to 01005 packages Experience with scripting/programming, e.g. Python, and operating, maintaining and customizing of test software, such as EMC32 and Elektra In-depth experience of ISO/IEC 17025 lab quality management systems, including internal auditing and proficiency test/inter-lab comparison Proficiency in internal test equipment verification, such as cables, pre-amplifiers and ESD/Surge equipment Experience in management of test equipment calibration, including working with external service providers Experience in EMC chamber site validation for NSA and SVSWR and field uniformity Ability to represent Apple on national and international EMC standards committees, including travel where necessary
