  • Calmax Technology, Inc. is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their team in Santa Clara, CA.
  • Candidates should have a B.A./B.S. in Business or 5 to 10 years of experience in purchasing, estimating, or a machine shop environment.
  • The Estimator will be responsible for managing customer RFQ inquiries, reviewing quotes, and collaborating with Manufacturing and Engineering departments to provide accurate estimates.
  • The position requires advanced knowledge of pricing, materials for CNC programming, and the ability to interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).

We have an immediate opening for an experienced Estimator to join our company in Santa Clara, CA.

 

Estimator Responsibilities:

  • Manages customer request for quotation (RFQ) inquires, reviews quotes, and collects the necessary information to begin an estimation such as: drawings, material pricing, component pricing, and outside cost pricing
  • Reviews customer blue prints, specifications, and all relevant data to determine material and labor requirements
  • Collaborates with the Manufacturing and Engineering departments to assess the company’s readiness to perform product design and provides accurate and realistic estimates to customers
  • Estimates labor, material, processing, and other costs of manufacturing/engineering based on the request for proposal data submitted by customers
  • Computes cost factors and prepares estimates used for planning, organizing, scheduling work, preparing bids, selecting vendors or subcontractors and determining cost effectiveness
  • Reviews material and labor requirements to determine whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase components

 

Education/Experience:

  • A. /B.S. in Business OR 5 – 10 years of experience in purchasing, estimating, machine shop environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience 

 

Qualifications:

  • Must interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
  • Advanced knowledge of pricing and materials needed to complete CNC programming, manual machining, mill, and lathe machining activities
  • Understanding of the processes and delivery lead times required for manufacturing parts
  • Extremely detail-oriented and thorough in making sure all contractual obligations at time of RFQ are understood and accounted for
