The Opportunity

Ensures the safe, efficient operation of building infrastructure (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) by designing, maintaining, and upgrading systems. Manage facility layouts, ensure compliance with building codes/safety regulations, oversee contractors, and develop budgets for repairs. This hands-on role requires a blend of technical expertise, hands on work ethic, project management skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Building Systems Maintenance:聽Perform as well as oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, including HVAC, lighting, and fire protection.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Preventive Maintenance:聽Develop and implement a comprehensive preventive maintenance program to minimize downtime and ensure the longevity of all facility equipment.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Project Management:聽Perform and Manage facility-related projects, including renovations, equipment upgrades, and office reconfigurations, from conception to completion. This includes budgeting, scheduling, and overseeing contractors.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Safety and Compliance:聽Ensure all facilities adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and building codes. Conduct regular safety inspections and drills.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Vendor and Contractor Management:聽Solicit bids, negotiate contracts, and manage the work of external vendors and contractors to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Energy Management:聽Identify and implement energy-saving initiatives to reduce operational costs and promote sustainability.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Emergency Response:聽Serve as a key point of contact for facility-related emergencies and develop and maintain emergency response plans.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Space Planning:聽Assist with space planning and office moves to accommodate the changing needs of the organization.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Continuous Improvement: Support the continuous improvement of facility operations by proactively identifying opportunities for enhancing system performance and reliability.

Basic Qualifications:

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Bachelor鈥檚 degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, facilities management, or a related field, or combination of technical education, training, and experience.聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 6+聽years of experience in facilities engineering or a similar role, and 2+ years of experience managing facilities operations and maintenance staff.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Experience building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire suppression

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Experience with building automation systems (BAS) and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Knowledge of CAD software and Building Management Systems (BMS).

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Demonstrated experience managing service contracts and maintenance vendors to ensure personnel safety, protect the Facility鈥檚 critical equipment, and maintain power to the critical load

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Must be willing to work outside normal business hours, including weekends, late nights, holidays, and on-call support.

Preferred Qualifications:

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Excellent project management and organizational skills.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the willingness to work collaboratively with various teams and stakeholders.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Professional Engineer (PE), or other relevant certifications are preferred.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Experience with energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives is a plus

Physical Requirements:

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Frequently sitting, perform desk-based computer tasks, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 35 pounds.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Occasionally stand/walk, twist/bend/stoop/squat, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, use a telephone, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 20 pounds.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Occasionally kneel/crawl, climb (ladders, scaffolds, or other), reach/work above shoulders, grasp forcefully, write by hand, sort/file paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh >40 pounds.

Working Conditions:

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 May be exposed to noise > 80dB TWA.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 May work at heights 4 - 10 ft, and on the building rooftop.
