Position Overview:

This program is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care to women during the menopause transition and beyond.

This provider will care for women experiencing perimenopause, menopause, and postmenopause, with a focus on optimizing quality of life through individualized treatment plans that incorporate hormonal and nonhormonal therapies. The ideal candidate is committed to practicing according to current evidence and clinical guidelines and has a strong interest in women’s midlife health and female sexual medicine.

Job Description:

Qualifications

Required

 Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of California.

 Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience caring for perimenopausal and postmenopausal women.

 Demonstrated expertise in the evaluation and management of menopausal symptoms.

 Comprehensive understanding of:

 Menopausal hormone therapy (systemic and local)

 Nonhormonal treatment options for vasomotor symptoms

 Genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM)

 Bone, cardiovascular, cognitive, and sexual health considerations during menopause

 Experience counseling patients regarding the risks, benefits, and shared decision-making surrounding menopausal therapies.

 Excellent communication skills and commitment to compassionate, evidence-based care.

Preferred, but not mandatory:

 Menopause Society Certified Practitioner (MSCP) certification.

 Additional training or significant clinical experience in female sexual medicine.

Clinical Responsibilities

The Advanced Practice Provider will:

 Evaluate and manage women during perimenopause and postmenopause.

 Develop individualized treatment plans utilizing hormonal and nonhormonal therapies based on current evidence and clinical guidelines.

 Diagnose and manage:

 Vasomotor symptoms

 Sleep disturbances

 Mood changes related to menopause

 Genitourinary syndrome of menopause

 Vulvovaginal atrophy

 Recurrent urinary symptoms related to estrogen deficiency

Evaluate and treat female sexual dysfunction, including:

 Dyspareunia (painful intercourse)

 Hypoactive sexual desire disorder (low libido)

 Arousal and orgasmic disorders

 Provide counseling regarding sexual health, intimacy, and relationship concerns during midlife.

 Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary specialists, including pelvic floor physical therapists, behavioral health providers, oncology, cardiology, endocrinology, and urogynecology as appropriate.

 Participate in quality improvement initiatives and help advance excellence in menopause care across the health system.

 Maintain current knowledge of evolving menopause research and clinical guidelines.

Pay Range is $204,630.40 to $296,691.20 / annual salary

The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health’s comprehensive total rewards program. Eligible positions also include a comprehensive benefits package.
