If you want to work beyond the cutting-edge, continuously pushing the boundaries of science and engineering to make possible the next generations of technology, join us to Make Possible® a Better Future.Key Responsibilities:- Laser process and hardware development- Design, collect data, analyze and compile reports on a variety of difficult laser process engineering experiments, within safety guidelines- Perform laser hardware characterization on a variety of difficult systems, within safety guidelines- Troubleshoot a variety of complex problems, perform Root Cause Analysis and resolve a variety of difficult process engineering issues- Generate internal and external documentation for products, presentations and technical reports- Interact with customers to resolve a variety of difficult process engineering issues/problems with limited supervision- Identify, select and work with vendors and suppliers with limited supervision- Implement new technology, products and analytical instrumentationFunctional Knowledge:- Demonstrates depth and/or breadth of expertise in own specialized discipline or fieldBusiness Expertise:- Interprets internal/external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or servicesLeadership:- May lead functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexityProblem Solving:- Leads others to solve complex problems; uses sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutionsImpact:- Impacts the achievement of customer, operational, project or service objectives; work is guided by functional policiesInterpersonal Skills:- Communicates difficult concepts and negotiates with others to adopt a different point of viewAdditional Requirements:- Successful candidates must be eligible to lawfully receive export-controlled information without the need for the company to seek a license.- Must meet government requirements for eligibility to participate in a US government funded project, including restrictions on nationality and association/affiliation with entities deemed to be of concern.Additional Information:- Travel: Yes, 10% of the Time- Relocation Eligible: Yes- The salary offered will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.- Candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.Applied Materials is an Equal Opportunity Employer and provides accommodations for applicants with disabilities.
