Job Description
We are seeking a hardworking, dependable Trenching Apprentice to join our crew. This is a hands-on position for someone eager to continue learning trenching, excavation, and concrete work in support of our electrical installation projects. We're looking for someone with a foundation of trenching experience who is ready to build on those skills under the guidance of our experienced crew members.
Responsibilities
- Assist with digging and preparing trenches for underground electrical conduit and cabling
- Help with pouring, forming, finishing, and repairing concrete as needed
- Learn to operate hand tools and light equipment (e.g., trenchers, compactors, saws)
- Assist with backfilling and compacting trenches to code and job requirements
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site
- Follow all OSHA safety standards and company safety protocols
- Take direction from lead trench/concrete workers and project supervisors
- Learn to read basic site plans and job specifications over time
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of trenching experience preferred
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, digging, and standing for extended periods
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Strong work ethic and ability to work well in a team environment
- Punctual and dependable
- Interest in building a long-term career in the trades a plus
