Behavioral Health Bridge Housing (BHBH) Direct Services Coordinator (DSC)

The Behavioral Health Bridge Housing is an interim housing site with 30 non-congregate units where individuals can stay temporarily and receive behavioral health and housing services. The primary role of the Behavioral Health Bridge Housing (BHBH) Direct Services Coordinator (DSC) is to actively support program activities and participantsā housing goals, and maintain a safe and clean environment for all shelter guests. Additionally, DSCs remain vigilant and available to handle all emergencies that may arise.Ā
Hours and Benefits:
- This Direct Services Coordinator role is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position.Ā
- Regularly scheduled shifts are:Ā Monday & Thursday from 6:00 Am - 2:00 PM and Tuesday, Friday, Saturday from 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM . May includeĀ holidays.

Preferred Experience/ Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED completion
- CPR Training preferred
- EMT certification preferred
- Bilingual English and Spanishāspeaking preferredĀ
- Basic computer skills, including ability to answer emails and utilize basic google suite and Microsoft office platforms
Special Requirements:
- Ability to work independently and with little supervision
- Valid California state driver's license and a clean driving record
Thorough knowledge of:
- Barriers to housing for people experiencing homelessness
- De-escalation techniques
- Multitasking in a fast-paced environmentĀ
- Radio communication
- Sanitation techniques
Typical Job Duties:
- Maintaining a safe, secure, and clean environmentĀ
- Be available to answer questions and problem-solve with shelter guestsĀ
- Distribute snacks and supplies when availableĀ
- Understand and apply housing first and harm reduction strategiesĀ
- Maintain and role model professional boundaries at all timesĀ
- Respond appropriately to potential encounters using deāescalation techniquesĀ
- Call upon community resources for assistance when appropriateĀ
- Maintain curfew and visiting policy specific to the programĀ
- Communicate with safety and staff via email or during shift handoffsĀ
- When appropriate, complete Incident Reports under policy guidelinesĀ
- Review and maintain accurate documentation for each programĀ
- Provide support to staff and community organizations during program activitiesĀ
- Attend staff and agency trainings and meetings as requiredĀ
- Other duties as assignedĀ
