Overview
State ECU is growing our Human Resources team - and we are looking for a Recruiter who can help attract, identify, and engage talent across the organization. This role is designed for someone who can manage recruiting activities with professionalism, urgency, and strong follow-through while creating a positive experience for candidates and hiring leaders alike.
The Recruiter plays an important role in helping State ECU identify talent that aligns with our culture, service expectations, and commitment to excellence. This position supports the full recruitment lifecycle and contributes to stronger hiring outcomes across the credit union.

The opportunity
Reporting to Human Resources leadership, this role supports the full recruitment lifecycle - from intake discussions and job postings to sourcing, screening, interviewing, and candidate communication - serving leaders and teams across the credit union. The impact is direct: stronger candidate pipelines, more effective hiring decisions, and a more consistent employment experience that supports organizational success.
What you'll do
Core responsibilities
- Create a positive, professional candidate experience that reflects State ECU standards and values.
- Manage full-cycle recruitment for a variety of positions across the credit union, including coordinating job postings, sourcing candidates, screening applicants, scheduling interviews, and supporting hiring decisions.
- Partner with hiring managers to understand position requirements, business needs, and desired candidate qualifications.
- Develop and use effective sourcing strategies to build qualified candidate pools through job boards, networking, outreach, referrals, and other recruiting channels.
- Maintain timely and professional communication with candidates and hiring leaders throughout the selection process.
- Support recruitment-related processes and documentation within the applicant tracking system and other systems used to organize hiring activity.
- Help promote State ECU's employment brand through recruiting outreach, community engagement, and other talent attraction efforts.
- Manage priorities, deadlines, and quality - supporting recruiting activity with strong organization, responsiveness, and attention to detail.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What we're looking for
Must-have qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to manage recruitment activities across the hiring lifecycle.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and represent the organization professionally.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple openings, deadlines, and follow-up needs simultaneously.
- Experience using recruiting tools, job boards, applicant tracking systems, and standard business software such as Microsoft Office.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Collaborative, service-oriented approach - able to work effectively with hiring managers, candidates, and team members across the organization
Education & experience
Education or experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or a similar field plus progressively responsible experience in recruiting, talent acquisition, or a related human resources environment.
Preferred (helps you stand out)
- Experience recruiting across a variety of positions and departments.
- Experience in financial services, banking, credit union, or other highly service-focused environments.
- Knowledge of employment practices, candidate sourcing techniques, and talent attraction strategies.
- Work environment & physical requirements
This role includes prolonged sitting/computer work, occasional standing/walking/bending, and lifting up to 15 pounds, with the ability to navigate credit union facilities and attend recruiting-related events as needed.
