Description

Purpose: The Audio/Visual (A/V) Support Work-Study Student supports the delivery of high-quality instruction within the College of Healthy Communities by ensuring classroom audio/visual technology is prepared, operational, and functioning effectively. This position provides technical assistance to faculty and guest lecturers, helping facilitate seamless classroom presentations and minimizing instructional disruptions through proactive equipment setup, monitoring, and troubleshooting.


Job Description: Work-Study Student – Audio/Visual (A/V) Support Assistant: The Audio/Visual (A/V) Support Assistant provides technical support for classroom instruction within the College of Healthy Communities. Responsibilities include preparing lecture technology by loading and displaying presentation slide decks on classroom projection systems, assisting faculty with classroom A/V setup, and ensuring all audio/visual equipment is functioning properly before and during lectures. The student will troubleshoot basic technical issues related to computers, projectors, microphones, presentation software, and classroom display systems, escalating concerns when necessary. Additional duties include organizing and maintaining A/V equipment, assisting with equipment inventory and storage, and providing timely, professional support to faculty, staff, and guest lecturers to ensure the seamless delivery of instructional activities.


Skills: any - Audio/Visual experience preferred

Qualifications: Knowledge of projectors. Minimal IT knowledge.

Number of Students Needed: 1

Times Needed: 15 min before class start times.

Days Needed: Days of classroom use depend on the semester's schedule.
