ETC Hotels is seeking a Spa Manager for One Spa at Shutters on the Beach and Sea Spa at Casa del Mar in Santa Monica.

 

The Spa Manager is responsible for the day-to day operations of both of the Spa's to include: supporting the spa team with staff training, acting as the liaison to other revenue centers on property, and professionally represents the facility and ETC Hotels. The Spa Manager must have the ability to lead and motivate staff to achieve goals and exceed guest expectations.

 

Responsibilities

  • Ensure an effective communication process is in place with spa staff and other departments in the hotel
  • Hands on support for the spa operations; spending specific time covering the front desks of both spas. 
  • Supervise overall operations of the fitness and spa facilities, including short and long range strategic planning so that the business operates cost effectively and efficiently. 
  • Ensure routine maintenance of all spa and fitness equipment are kept along with the highest level of cleanliness and operation throughout spa.
  • Ensure adherence of hotel, spa and facility policies
  • Develop relationships with vendors to align with the vision of ONE and Sea Spa. 
  • In coordination with the Directors of Operations, the following areas will be overseen: 
    • Ensuring solutions meet strategic objectives and quality standards within time, resource and financial goals
    • Prepare budget and compare to ensure proper execution and forecasting.
    • The ability to interview and select job applicants effectively supervise, discipline, mentor and give performance evaluations for Spa employees 
    • Lead the Spa in establishing and executing departmental goals
    • Monitor inventory and coordinate purchasing 
    • Implement (develop if needed) standard operating procedures training protocols and inventory control
    • Implement effective staff training plans for all areas of spa operations
    • Monitor comparison of the spa actual performance to Forecast / budget
    • Responsible for staffing, coordinating and supervising employees and is expected to provide a welcoming, safe, enjoyable and service-oriented environment for members and guests
    • Check on completed repair and maintenance works to ensure that established standards have been met

 

Qualifications

  • One to two years experience in spa management 
  • Luxury spa experience
  • Knowledge of professional spa services and treatments
  • Effective leadership skills and a strong work ethic
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Efficient, well organized, and able to handle a variety of duties simultaneously
  • Sales oriented with the ability to create initiatives for the revenue generation.
  • Energetic, enthusiastic and motivational
  • Professional manner, discretion, and appearance
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Ability to show initiative and make decisions
  • Proficient in spa software and Microsoft Office products
  • Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of constantly to move objects
  • The employee will be required to operate the following tools: computer, calculators, office supplies, phone, paperwork, protocol binders, retail inventory, all spa equipment, hot cabbies, paraffin heaters, steamers, microcurrent machines, fitness equipment, and treatment products
  • Work conditions include exposure to noise, vibrations, extreme temperatures, wet or humid environments, burns, fumes, odors, dust, mists, mechanical, chemical, and electrical hazards
