Chief Marketing Officer (CMO)
Company: 30A Market
Job Type: Full-Time | Executive Leadership
Reports To: Ownership / Executive Leadership
Location: 30A / South Walton, Florida

About 30A Market
30A Market is a growing, multi-location lifestyle, hospitality, retail, food & beverage, and e-commerce company built around the unique coastal culture and customer experience of Florida's Scenic Highway 30A.
Our businesses serve both local customers and visitors from across the country. We are focused on creating memorable customer experiences while building strong, recognizable brands that drive traffic, sales, customer loyalty, and long-term business growth.
30A Market is more than a collection of individual businesses. We are building a connected portfolio of complementary businesses and experiences that can work together to create additional revenue opportunities, strengthen customer relationships, and establish 30A Market as a leading coastal lifestyle brand.
Because we operate in a highly seasonal and competitive market, we are looking for an executive who understands that successful marketing must ultimately translate into sales, profitability, customer growth, operational performance, and long-term business value.
About the Position
30A Market is seeking an experienced, strategic, creative, and results-driven Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to lead the company's marketing, branding, communications, customer growth, and business development strategy.
This is not a traditional marketing-only position. The CMO will be a key member of the executive leadership team and will be expected to participate in the overall management and growth of the company.
The ideal candidate understands how to run a business, not just market one.
The CMO will work directly with Ownership and Executive Leadership to identify growth opportunities, improve revenue and profitability, develop new business opportunities, strengthen existing operations, improve the customer experience, and build a cohesive marketing strategy across the company's various businesses and locations.
This position requires someone who can think strategically at the executive level while also being highly involved in execution. The successful candidate will be comfortable reviewing financial performance, analyzing business results, managing budgets, working with Operations and Accounting, developing growth strategies, and holding themselves and their team accountable for measurable results.
Key Responsibilities
Business Strategy & Executive Leadership
  • Serve as a key member of the company's executive leadership team.
  • Participate in the development and execution of overall company strategy, not just marketing strategy.
  • Work directly with Ownership to establish annual business goals, growth objectives, and strategic priorities.
  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue, profitability, customer traffic, customer retention, and overall company performance.
  • Analyze existing businesses and locations to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
  • Participate in evaluating new locations, business concepts, partnerships, acquisitions, and other growth opportunities.
  • Provide Ownership with data-driven recommendations regarding marketing, sales, customer trends, competition, and business opportunities.
  • Help establish company-wide goals and ensure departments understand how their performance contributes to the overall success of the business.
  • Balance short-term business needs with long-term strategic objectives.
Financial & Profitability Management
  • Develop a strong understanding of company financial performance.
  • Work closely with Ownership, Accounting, and Operations to understand revenue, expenses, margins, labor costs, marketing expenses, and profitability.
  • Develop and manage the annual marketing budget.
  • Ensure marketing expenditures produce measurable results and a strong return on investment.
  • Analyze the profitability of promotions, advertising campaigns, events, partnerships, influencers, and other marketing initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue while controlling unnecessary expenses.
  • Understand the impact of pricing, promotions, seasonality, customer traffic, average transaction value, and customer frequency on business performance.
  • Use financial and operational data to make informed business decisions.
Revenue & Sales Growth
  • Develop strategies designed to directly increase sales and revenue.
  • Establish measurable revenue goals for marketing campaigns and business initiatives.
  • Develop strategies to increase customer traffic during peak and slower seasons.
  • Identify opportunities to increase customer frequency, average transaction value, and customer lifetime value.
  • Develop cross-promotional opportunities among the company's businesses.
  • Identify opportunities to increase retail sales, restaurant revenue, hospitality revenue, e-commerce sales, and other company revenue streams.
  • Work with Operations and department leaders to ensure promotions are designed to generate profitable sales.
Marketing & Brand Leadership
  • Develop and execute the overall marketing vision and annual marketing plan for 30A Market.
  • Establish measurable marketing goals and KPIs.
  • Serve as the primary guardian of the 30A Market brand.
  • Develop consistent brand standards, messaging, tone, visual identity, and customer experience.
  • Lead digital marketing, social media, SEO, SEM, email marketing, e-commerce marketing, digital advertising, and online promotions.
  • Oversee content strategy, photography, videography, graphic design, advertising, website content, and promotional materials.
  • Develop and manage seasonal marketing campaigns.
  • Oversee advertising across digital, social, print, outdoor, radio, partnerships, and other appropriate channels.
  • Develop public relations and media strategies.
  • Develop influencer, creator, brand ambassador, and community partnerships.
  • Track marketing performance and continuously adjust strategies based on results.
Operational Leadership
  • Work closely with Operations and General Managers to ensure marketing initiatives are operationally achievable and properly executed.
  • Understand the day-to-day operations of the company's businesses and regularly visit locations.
  • Identify operational issues that may negatively impact sales, customer experience, or brand reputation.
  • Work with Operations to develop solutions to business challenges.
  • Ensure locations are properly prepared for major promotions, events, seasonal traffic, and new product launches.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, customer service, sales conversion, communication, and overall business execution.
  • Ensure the actual customer experience reflects the promises made through marketing.
Business Development
  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, locations, products, services, partnerships, and revenue streams.
  • Assist Ownership in researching and evaluating potential new concepts.
  • Analyze market demand, competition, customer demographics, financial opportunity, and operational requirements.
  • Develop go-to-market strategies for new businesses and locations.
  • Lead marketing and customer acquisition strategies for new concepts.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage existing customers, brands, locations, partnerships, and resources to generate additional revenue.
Customer Experience & Loyalty
  • Develop strategies to acquire new customers and increase repeat business.
  • Analyze customer behavior, purchasing patterns, demographics, and engagement.
  • Develop customer loyalty and retention programs.
  • Improve the overall customer journey across physical locations and digital platforms.
  • Identify opportunities to increase customer satisfaction, referrals, reviews, repeat visits, and long-term customer value.
  • Ensure the company's brand promise is reflected in the actual customer experience.
Team Leadership
  • Build, lead, mentor, and manage the marketing team.
  • Establish clear responsibilities, goals, deadlines, and performance expectations.
  • Manage outside agencies, freelancers, photographers, designers, PR firms, and marketing vendors.
  • Develop efficient marketing systems and processes.
  • Create a creative, collaborative, accountable, and results-oriented culture.
