Key Responsibilities
- Production Leadership: Direct daily activities, assign tasks based on skill level, and manage the shop floor schedule in coordination with Production Manager to meet strict deadlines.
- Technical Oversight: Perform first-article inspections to ensure tight tolerances and surface finishes match CAD drawings. Provide "over-the-shoulder" guidance for complex setups on CNC mills, lathes, and manual machines.
- Process Improvement: Identify production bottlenecks and implement Lean Manufacturing principles or improved machining strategies to increase throughput.
- Safety & Maintenance: Enforce rigorous safety protocols (PPE, LOTO) in accordance with Cal/OSHA standards and oversee preventative maintenance (PM) schedules for all machinery.
- Team Development: Lead and train a team of 6+ machinists, conducting performance reviews and fostering a culture of continuous professional growth.
- Inventory Management: Manage the procurement of raw materials, specialized tooling, and inserts while maintaining an organized inventory.
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in CNC manufacturing and supervisory roles.
- Technical Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in CNC programming (G-code), CAD/CAM software (Mastercam, Fusion 360), and reading blueprints/GD&T.
- Materials Expertise: Deep understanding of machining stainless steel and food-grade alloys.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to resolve conflicts, manage priorities, and drive a high-performance culture.
- Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and G-Suite.
- Ability to stand for long periods and walk/work in a workshop environment close to the manufacturing floor
- Ability to lift and carry items up to 40 pounds
- Visual acuity for close work, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Tolerance for a work environment with moderate to loud noise levels
- Flexibility for occasional weekend, evening work, or travel as required

Compensation & Schedule (DOE)
- Pay Range: $45.44 - $51.00 per hour
- Schedule: Full-Time, on-site in Santa Rosa, CA
- PTO accrual and a boot allowance, and a collaborative professional culture
