We are a consumer goods company that creates and invents unique and market relevant products. Our products are marketed and sold through home shopping television networks as well as a variety of retail outlets. We are diverse in our product offerings-with a focus in garden, beauty, cleaning, kitchen and auto. 

Position Overview:

The Product Designer has a great passion for design, an innate curiosity, a love for problem solving and is committed to giving it their all.  This role requires a unique blend of creativity with practical application, a passion for ideation, and the ability to lead and implement the development of unique and sometimes complex product. This position is responsible for the entire life cycle of a product- from the ideation, creation and delivery of a complete product.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive the execution of all product lifecycle processes for our designs, including product research, market research, competitive analysis, positioning in the market, sourcing, vendor development and product launches.

• Ability to source overseas as well as domestic

• Apply aesthetic sensitivity to form, detail, product and packaging.

• Develop, implement, and maintain production timelines across multiple departments, while launching new products each year.

• Exhibit and drive regular brainstorming and ideation practices to introduce fresh and innovative product solutions.

• Translate product strategy into detailed requirements for prototype construction and final product development 

• Ability to troubleshoot manufacturing issues, developing creative solutions in order to meet delivery deadlines 

• Manage deadlines, individual timelines and multiple projects.

• Identify areas of opportunity and propose solutions for improvements in process and product. 

• Present and defend work within the Product Development Team.

• Lead communication with overseas and domestic vendors regarding product development and design, trouble shoot and cost engineer as needed.

• An extensive knowledge base of materials and manufacturing. Including hard-lines (plastic, ceramic, glass, metal, electronics) and soft-lines (textiles)

• Mentor and inspire colleagues. 

• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing and Logistics 

• Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

• Preferred Bachelor's degree in product/industrial design or related field.

• 2+ year’s experience in Product Design/Industrial Design.

• Good knowledge and ability to assess production standards, timelines, and quality of work being produced.

• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite software

• Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Power Point & Outlook 

• 3D modeling experience in Solidworks, Rhino or Fusion 360 is a plus

• Drawing/Illustration skills a plus

• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage project timelines. 

• Ability to work on multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.

• Maintains a high level of accuracy and attention to detail while working under tight deadlines and time pressures.

• Project management skills from concept to completion.

• Strong conceptual and ideation ability.

• Creative problem solving and analytical skills.

• An aptitude in understanding visual, societal and marketplace trends.

• Strong visual communication skills-quick hand sketch, and computer aided.

• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

• Team-oriented person who works well with others.

• Fabrication and prototyping skills a plus

• Enthusiastic curiosity and self-starting, proactive attitude.

• Ability to travel overseas and domestically as needed

• Availability in the early morning or evening to interact with overseas partners

Job Type:
This is a full-time position. Hours are from 8:30 am until 5:30 pm. We work hard around here but believe in balance and proper rest and recovery time.

Pay: Salary commensurate on experience.
