Role description:Â
The Shipping and Warehouse Supervisor works with customers, suppliers, and employees to meet requirements of on-time deliveries without error or damage to shipments. This role also manages the day-to-day operations of the warehouse and shipments while supervising employees.Â

Responsibilities:Â

Collaborates with the health and safety team to administer an effective safety programÂ
-
Lead quarterly cycle countsÂ
-
Determine the best location for storing products to maximize space and convenienceÂ
-
Create outbound shipments based on forecasted needÂ
-
Assign shipping and warehousing locations, coordinate shipping releases with customers and plant shipping employees, and adjust shipping schedules as neededÂ
-
Maintain a clean and orderly warehouseÂ
-
Manage direct reports by providing coaching, skills development opportunities, and cross-functional trainingÂ
-
Manage employee relations such as timesheet reviews and time off requestsÂ
-
Utilize class tracking systems (SAP, WMS, WM, AGV, etc.) to provide the company with maximum visibility and ability to make timely and informed decisions with finished goods inventory towards customer fulfilmentÂ

Comply with environmental and food safety standards as set forth in plant policies and programs within the departmental responsibilitiesÂ

Minimum skills / qualifications: Â

High School Diploma or equivalentÂ
-
Three (3) years of experience in the distribution center, warehousing, and shipping Â
-
Proficient in Microsoft Office SuiteÂ
-
Previous experience with a warehouse management systemÂ
-
Proficient communicator and organizational skillsÂ
-
Ability to problem solve and work within a team environmentÂ
-
Proven ability to take initiativeÂ
Â
Preferred skills / qualifications: Â

Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, supply chain, or a related fieldÂ

Previous supervisory experienceÂ

Previous experience in a union environmentÂ

Previous experience working with SAPÂ
