Position summary: 

Material Handler is responsible for ensuring that work cells are supplied with adequate packaging, other required materials and moving product to the next operation throughout the shift in a safe, neat and timely manner.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Record start and stop of jobs in ADP.
  2. Stretch per guidelines prior to start up.
  3. Set up and maintain work center prior to scheduled start up and throughout shift.
    1. Bring all required packaging, materials, and purchased components to work cell prior to production startup per Daily Work Schedule.
    2. Inform Team Leader of any packaging, material, or purchased component shortage.
  4. Operate Hi-Lo.
    1. Follow established procedures and drive in a safe manner.
    2. Assist in maintaining clean work areas throughout the shift.
    3. Maintain a current Hi-Lo operator’s license.
  5. Deliver finished product to designated areas. 
    1. Take audited finished parts to the next operation and scan if required.
    2. Discard unusable skids and packaging and return them to designated area.
    3. Where required, secure product at workstation for transport to next operation. 
  6. Assist with work center clean-up at shutdown and throughout the shift.

Education & Experience: 

  1. High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  2. Appropriate mathematics and reading skills.
  3. Possession of a valid Michigan Driver’s license or other proof of vision.
  4. Prior training or experience operating a Hi-Lo.
