Assistant General Manager Job Description
Reports to: General Manager
Job Summary:Ā Responsible for assisting in planning, directing, and coordinating all operations and personnel management. Ultimately responsible for managing the restaurant.Ā
Major Areas of Responsibility:Ā
- Monitor all restaurant operations and conditions to ensure the quality of the product and guest services.
- Monitor job performance; food and labor costs, budgets, and sales; labor payroll sheets.
- Complete knowledge of all expectations of the Manager position.
- Effective coaching/counseling.
- Manages HR issues.
- SNAG compliance.
- Payroll processing.Ā
- Trains and mentors Managers.
- Deliver team player annual reviews.
- Orientation of all new staff.
- Responsible for all FOH training.
- P&L involvement.Ā
- Understand General Ledger.
- Knowledge of accounts/approved vendors.
- Bar management.Ā
- Liquor inventory.
- Maintain budgeted food and beverage cost.
- Involved in increasing bar sales.
- Produce cost effective specials.
- Liquor ordering.Ā
- Handle cash transactions, comps, or voids, and amounts of cash in drawers.
- Enter all invoices.
- Create bartender schedules.
- Keep marketing material current.
- Menu spec compliance.
- Knowledge of Health Inspections.
- Understand the Ecosure goals.
- Display good judgement.
- Understand Specific Measurable Achievable Relevant Time-bound (SMART) goals.
- Maintain a positive attitude and professional approach to coworkers and customers.Ā
