JOB TITLE: First Mate

DEPARTMENT: Boats

REPORTS TO: Captain or General Manager

POSITION PURPOSE:

The First Mate is responsible for the operation and safety of the property’s vessel. This person should work in a safe manner consistence with USCG regulations. Daily maintenance inspections to ensure vessel operates correctly, in addition to having a high level of customer service to the people who are aboard the vessel. You should be able to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Daily operation of vessel
2. Meet and greet customers both as they arrive and depart the vessel
3. Coordinate line-handling when coming to dock, anchoring, deck maintenance and safety

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

1. First mate experience preferred
2. Enrolled in APCA Drug Consortium
3. Strong knowledge of boating
4. Must have flexible schedule to include working weekends and holidays during busy season

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Must be able to independently lift, carry, push, and pull up to thirty (30) pounds
2. Must be able to swim or be willing to wear a personal flotation device in instances of emergency
3. Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently, and squeezing & overhead reaching occasionally
4. Must be able to work flexible hours based on the needs of the property to include weekends and holidays as needed.
